This couple flew in from China to shoot wedding photos. We shot the whole day and captured many beautiful classic bridal looks.
This polished wedding hairstyle was created by adding Volume Envy Extra Mousse, heating with the blow dryer, then using a curling iron to create movement and texture to this bride's hair. We then pinned it into a chignon, and created a lift in front, then twisting to the back and pinning over the chignon. Photo by Kristina Varakzina.
Editorial shoots are a love of mine. This braided hairstyle was created for a 7-page editorial that was published in Magpie Darling magazine. Photo by Gabrielle Assaf Photography.
Kelly likes to have a strong A-line, layered bob haircut to get a soft look in front and less weight in the back. I wished I could take credit for her Balayage-looking color, but it's 100% natural.
Irene has fine-textured hair, which I love to work with. She needs drama and a strong line in her cut to feel chic. So we cut a solid bob line, even the fringe is strong, and pulled forward and cut to accentuate her eyes. The nape is essentially cut very close, creating a crisp contrast to the bob haircut.
I used the Balayage technique to allow some of her natural hair color to come through and create a softer grow-out.
When we think of Balayage, we think of highlights with a lightener, but we do the opposite on this client. We Balayage with hair color to add depth back to her hair, which makes the grey hair the highlight.
We then cut soft layers to remove the weight from her very thick hair.
We created a layered bob here to create softness, and yet it is a very classic look. This client also has a grown-out Balayage with color, which you can see added some warmth to her hair color.
Simma loves drama! Yet going lighter as one goes grey is needed to create a softer look. For Simma, we added some Balayage pieces to add some high and low dimensions in her hair color. Then we cut clean lines everywhere.
Demi-permanent hair color can blend gray hair so seamlessly on fine hair, allowing for a softer grow-out, low maintenance, and shine. A classic layered cut gives structure and definition for this client.
This fiery Italian has been a client for 21 years. She is bold and loves her copper. INOA hair color at the base and partial balayage through the top, with a glaze over the top to give lots of shine and create long-lasting red hair color. The overall color juices up this otherwise classic look.
