The Spring/Summer 2022 runways gave me a lot of inspiration when looking for simple yet beautiful hairstyles to try for spring. The trends we have this year are a mix of modern and retro styles, such as the ‘mixie’ (a combination of a pixie cut and a mullet), and a lot of accessorizing. So, if you are thinking of switching up your hair for the new season, here are some lovely hairstyles you can try.
Have fun with hair clips.
Hair clips are not exclusive to children anymore. However, if bright-colored clips are too much for you, opt for sophisticated barrettes and hairpins instead. Look for something embellished with dainty pearls, crystals, or beads for an elegant touch.
Go sweet with boho braids.
Speaking of childhood hairstyles, braids are back with a bohemian update this spring. Think slim, face-framing braids that give off a cool 70s-inspired look. Braided pigtails were also popular on the spring runways but with a looser and more undone look. You can also try a fishtail braid for a more unique take on this classic style.
Try a middle part.
You have seen it come and go, but this year might be the time to finally give in to the middle part. It just works with any hairstyle—straight, curly, or wavy, long or short. This style gives a more youthful and fashion-forward look that suits all ages. The younger generation has embraced this trend with open arms, so perhaps it’s time for you to give it a chance, too.
Be tres chic with a messy hair twist.
With the cool breeze of spring, you don’t need to put your hair up in a tight high bun just yet. Just twist your hair up instead. You can easily do this in less than a minute. All you need is a hair clamp or U-shaped pin. Twist your hair all the way, tuck it in sideways, and secure. If there are strands or even locks of hair falling out, let them be for a relaxed vibe.
Headscarves are back.
Headscarves have been around for a few seasons now, and if you have not hopped on the hair trend train yet, this is the time to do so. Fashion a silk headscarf like a normal bandana, or incorporate it into a braided ponytail for a runway-inspired look. There are also other iterations to choose from, such as crochet scarves and infinity head wraps.
Keep it low-key with a low bun.
There is no denying that a low bun is one of the quickest and easiest ways to make your hair look fabulous in seconds. It is practical, effortless, and beautiful, perfect for those on the go. However, if you have more time to style your hair, try using an embellished clip or pin to add some sparkle to your look.
